Amy Chu was born in Hong Kong. She became interested in painting, music, photography and handcraft at an early age. She immigrated to Canada in 1975. She studied Chinese painting under Szeto Nigel in 1991. She has actively participated in various exhibitions held in Hong Kong, Toronto and Vancouver.
